Mad River Investors was founded in 1992 to manage concentrated, long-term equity portfolios for a select group of clients who want a direct relationship with the people managing their capital. We are based in Boston, where we have remained ever since.
Today our flagship program, Managed Opportunities, is a separately managed account strategy run since 1999. The portfolio holds roughly 20–30 high-conviction positions built around long-duration, often misunderstood businesses that may take years to be properly recognized by the market. Today the firm manages approximately $350 million across its investment programs.
